Measuring Instructions

Our intention is for this website to be as simple to use as possible. To prevent any problems it is essential that you ensure you have measured you picture correctly in millimetres and understand what the sizes detailed on your order confirmation relate to.

If you are only ordering a picture frame from us, the size you enter into our website will relate to what fits inside the frame. Therefore, if the picture you are framing measures 500 X 400mm you would enter 500 X 400mm into our website. We would manufacture the frame so that the opening size at the back of the frame will accomodate a 500 X 400mm picture.

If you are ordering a picture frame and mount, the size you enter will relate to the opening size the mount is manufactured to accomodate. Therefore if your picture measure 250 X 200mm, you would enter 250 X 200mm into our website. We would manufacture the mount so that the opening size just overlaps your picture by 2mm on each side. It is usually essential for the mount to overlap the picture size to ensure it doesn't just fall through the mount opening.

When measuring your'picture it is essential for you to consider other factors, such as white borders on the paper that you may want to or not want to see. If you are unsure please ask by using our contact page.

Frame Size

The 'Frame Size' detailed on your order confirmation relates to the glazing/backing size of the frame, basically the size of what fits inside the frame opening at the back of the frame. The frame size does not relate to the outside measurements of the frame, nor does it relate to the visible area from the front of the frame. It only relates to the opening size at the back of the frame. The frame rebate will overlap the contents of the frame by around 5mm on each side, which means the visible area from the front of the frame will be around 10mm smaller than the actual frame size.

External Mount Size

The External Mount Size will be quoted on your order confirmation if you have ordered a picture mount without a frame. The size relates to the outside measurements of the picture mount. If you are ordering a picture mount to fit inside your own picture frame, the external mount size should match your frame size.

Image Size

The image size will be detailed on your order confirmation if you have ordered a picture mount. The size relates to the artwork size the mount opening will be manufactured to take. The actual mount opening will be cut to overlap the quoted image size by 2mm on each side to ensure it doesn't fall through the opening.

Dispatch Times

Every custom made picture frame and mount we manufacture is dispatched with 3 full working days. The actual delivery date of the goods will typically be within 1-2 working days of the dispatch date. The only exceptions to our 3 day dispatch time is for orders taken after our Christmas deadline, over the Christmas/New Year shutdown and the first 2 weeks of January.

Delivery Times & Costs

UK - Zone 1 - Mainland UK(England, Wales & Most Of Scotland)

Standard next day delivery charged at £5.00 inc VAT for all orders. The standard next day delivery service is fulfilled Monday - Friday between 7am - 6pm via our nominated courier UK Mail. Saturday delivery is available as an optional upgrade to Zone 1 addresses and starts from £18.00 inc VAT - see Terms below.

UK - Zone 2 -Remote Scotland, UK Isles, Northern Ireland

Delivery charges for the postal area below are £12.00 inc VAT. Higher charges are applied to these postal areas by the courier due to their locations ad we have no control over the regions they apply higher rates to. Transit times range from 1-2 days.

We do not deliver to the Channel Islands.

Free Collection Option

You are welcome to collect any picture frames, mounts and canvas pictures from either our Bedford picture framing factory or our Kettering picture framing retail store. There is no charge for collecting items from us. Just select the relevant option during the checkout procedure.

Failed Deliveries/Returns

The delivery charge you pay is for two delivery attempts to the delivery address entered on our website at the time of order. Following two failed deliveries the courier will store your parcel for 72 hours to allow you to collect the parcel. If the courier doesn't receive updated instructions or the parcel is not collected it will be returned to us. We incur charges of 8.10 plus VAT to have your parcel returned, and these charges, along with a new delivery charge, will be payable by you before we can resend the goods. Additional charges may also be applicable if an incorrect address or postcode is supplied at the time of order.

Refund Policy

Every picture frame and mount we manufacture is custom made to your specification.

Any product that has been custom made to specification is not eligible for a refund or exchange under the terms of UK Distance Selling Regulations. Therefore we will not be able to offer a refund on any custom made picture frame or mount.

The frame you have supplied is the wrong measurements....

It is incredibly unlikely that we have supplied an incorrectly sized item as the different elements(frame, backing, glazing, mount) are cut by different people, on different machines and at different times. Any errors are very obvious and rectified immediately. However, if you receive an item that you believe to have been supplied incorrectly, we would ask that you double check the measurements of both the items received and your pictures to ascertain where the problem has occured. If an error has been made, either with your measurements or our manufacturing, please use our contact form to report the problem.

The frame/mount you have supplied is the wrong colour....

All the moulding photography, mount colours and descriptions are supplied in good faith and in our opinion offer an excellent representation of the actual product. However your opinion and our opinion could differ, when does gold become silver?? how is your screen calibrated?? etc,etc. We are unable to refund any custom made picture frame or mount that doesn't meet your expectations unless Trading Standards agree there is a significant difference between our description and the actual product. If you are looking for an exact colour, style or match we would strongly recommend ordering moulding samples before placing an order.

Damage Policy

Unfortunately mishaps do occur during transit or the manufacturing process. If damage is present on any custom made picture frame or mount we would simply ask that it be reported to us via email within 48 hours of receipt. It would be helpful if you could include photographic evidence of any damage.

Normal procedure would be to supply a replacement product or provide advice on how to rectify the problem.

If a product does arrive damaged, we will only ever supply a replacement to the exact same specification detailed on the original order or offer a partial refund. We will not be able to supply a refund on any item that arrives damaged under any circumstances.
