Store Policies

We are a UK company and have been established for 25 years. We pride ourselves on offering a quality product at unbeatable prices. We do not wish to deceive or mislead any customer in any way. Our Store Policies are written in a format that we believe is understandable. By placing an order with us you are accepting and agreeing to our Store Policies. If you do not agree with any of our store policies please do not order from us.

There are many good reasons for buying from us. We are fully aware that we are cheaper than anywhere else online and certainly any High Street framer. The time it takes for you to have the frame delivered to your home is also unlikely to be beaten by anyone else. There are also negative points that apply to buying from us and any other online company. These include the customer taking the responsibility of making the right choice and taking the right measurements - the customer is responsible for the customer service element of the sale. It is because of the reduced customer service we need to offer that we can offer huge savings compared to other picture framers. If you are unsure about any aspect of buying online from us or feel you would be happier receiving the full customer service package please visit your local picture framer.

Your Statutory rights are not affected by any of the following store policies.

Ordering Online

Ordering Online with us is safe and secure!

We employ a method of interaction with our visitors that does not compromise credit card information. This online system is 100% secure. All payments are processed via Sagepay and our webpages that contain sensitive information are secured by Geotrust.

We encourage you to feel comfortable using your credit card to conduct commerce on our site.

Stock Checker & Delivery Dates

Each picture frame moulding display includes a stock checker program that will advise if the product is in stock and an estimated despatch date. Stock levels are constantly changing and the availability is updated regularly but is not 100% guaranteed. If, after you have placed an order, we find we don't have a moulding in stock we will offer you an alternative, a refund or a delayed delivery date.

The despatch date shown in each product description is offered as the date we fully expect to despatch your goods. It is not a guaranteed despatch date and we are not responsible for any losses you incur if we cannot meet this deadline. In certain circumstances, such as machinery failure or stock problems, we may have to review the delivery date of your order. Please also remember the date shown is the date we shall advise our courier we have a package ready for them to collect and deliver - it is not a delivery date. The 3 day despatch date only applies to orders upto £500 in total value - orders over this value will be negotiated on an individual basis.

Your order confirmation may contain an estimated despatch day. This date is calculated from when you added the product to your shopping cart and is retained in your seesion ID. Should you decide not to complete the order at that stage and return in a few days time the estimated despatch day may not have been updated and will therefore show an incorrect date.

Website Images And Descriptions

We have gone to great lengths to try to create images that demonstrate an exact example of how the frame will actually look in real life. This is not always possible and the product your receive may vary from how you imagined the final product to be. All picture frame images are generated from the front section of the picture frame moulding only. Some frames may appear more distressed and some colours may differ slightly. We cannot offer a refund or credit on any frame should it not be as you imagined the frame to be. We do offer a sample service whereby you can order samples online before you order a complete frame. Samples can be ordered here. We strongly recommend that you order samples before placing any order. Please do not be under the illusion that you may order a frame from us to see if it will meet your requirements, then expect a refund if it doesn't. If you are trying to match a current picture frame or have an exact requirement we strongly recommend you visit a local picture framer so you know exactly what you are buying.

Return/Refund/Cancellation Policy

Every item we sell is carefully inspected before it is shipped. In the unlikely event your goods arrive damaged we will offer a replacement item as soon as possible. You must report any damage by email or by phone within 48 hours of receiving the goods. We cannot accept claims for damage if you have had the goods in your procession for more than 48 hours. Please do not contact us when you have had the goods in your procession for longer than 48 hours claiming there is damage to the frame or glazing as refusal may offend. We cannot accept claims for damage once the film on the acrylic glazing has been removed as this indicates the frame has been used. The only exception to this is when the damage is to the acrylic glazing in the form of a crack or scratch.

All picture frames are made to order, including photo frames in our trade section and all custom size picture frames/mirrors. We are therefore unable to offer a refund or replacement on any correctly supplied product. Our refund policy meets the requirements of consumer law for distance selling when items have been manufactured to your specifications. All frame measurements are calculated from the sizes the customer enters on our website. Our website cannot modify or change the measurements your enter. We will only supply a product to the measurements you have given us - we cannot offer a refund/exchange or rectify any mistakes we are not responsible for.

UK law states we have to offer a 7 day cooling off period for items we sell that we DO NOT manufacture to customer specifications. To comply with this law you may return any item within our Tapes & Accessories section. You can find full details of UK law regarding refunds here.

You are unable to cancel any custom frame or canvas order after we have begun work on it. This may range from 1 minute to 3 days. Providing we have manufactured and despatched your order within the agreed time limits you have no right to cancel for any reason.

Delivery Information

IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE WHEN OUR COURIER ATTEMPTS DELIVERY IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRANGE COLLECTION OR REDELIVERY. IF ANY ITEM IS RETURNED TO US DUE TO FAILED DELIVERY AND YOU HAVE FAILED TO COLLECT FROM THE COURIER YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE ORIGINAL DELVERY FEE PLUS £13.49 SURCHARGE. IF YOU RECEIVED FREE DELIVERY YOU WILL BE CHARGED £20.99 FOR REDELIVERY.

Our couriers are extremely pro active and will contact us and the customer to arrange delivery.
We will make every attempt to contact you via email and phone. Parcels are only returned to us as a last resort.

If you require your parcel redirecting to another address, even if it is just around the corner, there will be a fee of £21.99 plus VAT
payable directly to us or the courier before delivery will be made

All regions (UK Mainland, Scottish Highlands, Offshore Isles) are classified by our courier company - Business Post.
Our fees are based on the how the courier company classifies the postcode region we are delivering to.

UK MAINLAND (England, Wales & Scottish Lowlands)

Postage & Packaging is charged depending on your order value. Our charges range from £7.50 - £10.50. Orders of £200 or more are delivered free to UK Mainland addresses.

Most orders(under £500 in value) are despatched within 3 full working days of receiving the order & are sent via a 24hr - 48hr courier service. If we cannot fulfill our delivery times we will contact you as soon as possible to either arrange an alternative or agree to delay the delivery. You will recieve an email from us to confirm we have contacted our courier to arrange for them to collect and deliver your goods. The email will also contain a tracking number and link to where your goods can be tracked. Our courier normally collects from us before 1pm for delivery the next day(Business Addresses) or within 48 hours(Residential Addresses)..

If you have not received your order after 5 full working days have passed and you have not heard from us please Contact Us.

Our delivery company will deliver between 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday. It is your responsibility to be available when they deliver. If you are not available they will leave a calling card for you to arrange redelivery or collection. We are not responsible for any delays caused by our courier company that are beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses incurred due to late delivery.

SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS, UK ISLES AND NORTHERN IRELAND

Our postage and packaging charges range from £17.95 - £100. Free delivery does not apply to Scottish Highlands, UK Isles or Northern Ireland deliveries.

COLLECTION

You may opt to collect from our Bedford Workshop when you checkout. We charge a fee of £2.00 for orders under £100 to cover additional staff time and packaging costs. Our workshop does not open weekends, you will be required to collect during business hours. Onsite parking is available, Directions and our route planner are available here.

Any attempts to deceive us by selecting England and Wales as your shipping country but then entering a different postal address will result in your ordering being manufactured and not sent until you supply a delivery address in England or Wales. We regard any attempt to deceive us as fraud and will not credit any order that is placed in such a manner. You may opt to pay additional delivery charges by negotiation. Please note that when you place an order with us and select England and Wales as the delivery country you are entering a non refundable contract with us to deliver the goods the England and Wales only.

Our delivery charges are fixed per order value. 95% of the time our delivery charges are not profit or part subsidised. On occassions, if you order a very small item, we may send orders via another service. If we believe we can deliver your goods cheaper but within the same time restraints it is our prerogative to do us. By placing an order with us you are made fully aware of the delivery costs prior to purchase. You have no right to attempt to renegotiate the delivery charges after receiving the goods.

Prices

Goods are charged at price shown on the product pages on the date the customer places the order and are exclusive of VAT. Prices are correct at time of publication. Errors and omissions are excepted. Orders will be processed at our published prices, otherwise, in the case of any unexpected change in price, you will be informed and asked if you wish to reconsider your order before proceeding.

Complaints

If we should receive a complaint about any part of our service, by phone,fax,e-mail or letter,then it will be dealt with promptly (we will reply within 2 working days).It will then be dealt with confidentially,and effectively.

Credit Accounts

We will only accept credit account applications if you fall into any of the following categories:

You are a major company that will be known to us & we can easily check your credentials.

You are part of a Government Institution, i.e. School, Council, etc

You currently purchase from us on a regular basis & intend to use us more often.

All invoices are due for payment within 30 days of receipt of the goods.

We reserve the right to add a 2% surcharge to any overdue invoices. The first charge will automatically be made 15 days after the due date and every 30 days there after. Any charges for the collection of overdue accounts which are incurred by The Picture Framing Experts are to be paid by the customer including any legal and debt collection fees.

All goods remain the property of The Picture Framing Experts until outstanding invoices have been paid in full.
